Falling in love and admiring, you will get what you love. If you replace admiration with a substitute for love, such as envy, you will get nothing but pain and suffering. Mortal sins, substituting themselves for love, kill the miracle of love and spoil everything.
Of course, boredom is a mortal sin and a source of endless suffering. But boredom is necessary for a person to find love and so be saved. Trying to kill boredom with entertainment and vices is obviously more like firewood under the devil's cauldron than saving you from suffering.
All mortal sins are something devoid of love, which means that they do not lead to the transmission of internal information, allowing you to get only superficial and formal information, that is, lies. Envy is one of the forms of fear, vanity and stupidity. The worm of envy kills love and faith. Man cannot love whom he envies. The main sins of the jealous are mendacity, betrayal, subversion and so on.
