Hope cannot be lost or found. Hope is a constant. There is always hope inside you and outside of you. Hope within you requires faith in yourself, that is, your own actions. Hope outside of oneself requires trust in the outside world, based on the idea that the world is good.
The point is that you are falling down with a uniform acceleration, because you are afraid, pushing, waving your arms, trying to slow down or accelerate, your speed does not change. The question is not how fast you fly, but what your time and attention are devoted to.
The speed of time is a constant, and you can't speed up or slow down time. Haste or attempt to delay something is useless. Acceleration gives rise to a slowing down and obstruction. Delays create dams and floods.
