It can be said that most religions have a grain of truth in them.
It can even be said that almost everything about religions is good.
Some may accuse them of fulfiling some social procurement. But should they be accused of it? And what's wrong about it? Social peace is a precious thing as unnecessary indignation may lead to no good.
It's possible to accuse them of dealing with the mystical too much. But how many really wise and logical people do you know? The majority of population would gladly believe in some miracle than start thinking logically and use brains.
Some may criticize their religious ceremonies. But what's wrong about them? They are beautiful and people are busy with holding them. And these ceremonies resemble dancing. All these movements and words bring pleasure to all those who participate in it. And it gives people peace, confidence, faith and other things that are really precious in modern world.
It can be said that religion has too many vestiges and atavisms. Though it's really disputable. For instance, the motives that Prophet Mohammed had on his mind when he claimed the use of having four wives and wearing yashmaks, can be used even today. And these motives have nothing to do with sexism as their essence is a matter of safety and sensibility. While the motive concerning pork is formally old-fashioned but however, is not critical and helps to separate a religious minority. And the same can be said about other religious things that seem to be old-fashioned.
There are a bit too many religious words like: sins, demons, angels, the Devil, harmony, the good, evil, God etc. But these words are nothing but symbols. Or metaphors. And it's a shame for those who think logically and know philosophy, not to realize that mystical symbols are just abstract reflections of some real laws and phenomena.
The only thing that I want to place the blame on religion for is the sin of Pridefulness.
The sin of Pridefulness doesn't let it change, admit mistakes or repent. It also doesn't let it be up-to date and accept something new. The problem of most religions is not in their dwelling on the old but in the ignoring something new.
A human being should live for the truth and not for the symbol. Making a cult of some symbol is the same fake idol that God once said the following thing about: you shall not make for yourself an idol.
As our only God is the Truth...
Of course, religious scholars may tell me that God is the truth in himself. And that something new should be accepted with more attention as there's too little truth in it and a great deal of heresy.
And that, probably, over the thousand years the best minds of mankind have already figured out everything that can be called the truth...
- There is a grain of truth in these words. But there's one heretic thought in it as well. And this thought is that the Church has already attained Perfection and there's nothing for it to work on anymore. As if the truth has already been found. And this thought is the Dead End and Heresy.
