Do what you must and be what you will… this is a metaphor for love. Love is the art of accomplishing the impossible. 38% you can do yourself, and leave the rest to hope and miracle. You can't do much, and that saves you from being complacent.
Self-confidence comes from the firmness of your desires. Nothing can shake my determination to achieve my goal, you tell yourself. The achievability of my goal depends only on me, and I will not give up until I have done everything possible.
A properly set goal is a determination to do everything possible and impossible, and then come what may. I want to The Nobel prize and, therefore, I am determined to do everything possible from me to become worthy of my goal.
Here so. You either do what you have to do and get the carrot... or you get the whip and still do it. The system does not provide for a situation when you stop and do nothing.
Of course, faith and love will save you, but faith is a movement and God helps the one who is walking. Are you already performing an act of faith? Where is your movement towards the expected and confidence in the unseen?
Your job is to do what you have to do. I forbid you to suffer that you don't have time for something. Your desire for power over time is pride. God's ways are mysterious. Everything is done as it should and when it should.
You should relax in the sense that yours comes to you easily enough, but what does not come to you, and you try to grab it by force – this is clearly someone else's. Everything superfluous is done with great difficulty. So you don't have to be afraid of anything, but just calmly do what you have to do.
